The opening ceremony of the (34th) Annual Meeting of the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association was held at the Myanmar Convention Center, MICC-I, Nay Pyi Taw on October 9, 2025 at (9:00) am.
The ceremony was attended by Honorary Patron Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Deputy Minister Prof. Dr. Aye Htun, Directors General of Ministries, the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association, President, Prof. Dr. San San Myint Aung, and the central executive committee members, Patrons, Presidents, Secretaries and members of the Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committees in Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states, officials from the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, Myanmar Women and Children’s  D…. Federation, Myanmar Red Cross Society, Myanmar Medical Association, Myanmar Nurses and Midwives Association, and Myanmar Health Officers Association, as well as invited guests.
First, the opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Union Minister of Ministry of Health. Then the video was shown the activities documentary of the MMCWA.
Next, the awards ceremony was held to award the outstanding achievements of the MCWA in the four (4) sectors of health, education, social and Economy activities, in Nay Pyi Taw and regions/states in 2024. First, Honorary Patron Daw Kyu Kyu Hla presented awards for Health activities to the MCWA of Yangon Region, Kachin State, Mandalay Region and Sagaing Region.
Honorary Patron Daw Than Than Nwe presented awards to the MCWA of Bago Region, Shan State and Mon State for their educational activities; Union Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win, presented awards to the MCWA of Magway Region, Kayin State and Rakhine State for their social activities; and Prof. Dr. San San Myint Aung, President of the MMCWA, presented awards to the MCWA of Ayeyarwady Region, Nay Pyi Taw and Tanintharyi Region for their economic activities.
Honorary Patron of the MMCWA, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, took a photo with the distinguished guests attending the ceremony. They toured the photos of the activities of the Nay Pyi Taw, Regions/States MCWA during the year of 2024.
Next, the Honorary Patron Daw Kyu Kyu Hla provided nutritious food to pregnant mothers and immunizations to children under five years of age. After that, the members of the Nay Pyi Taw, Regions/States MCWA toured the display and sale of local products and traditional handicrafts.
As for the second part, the (34th) annual meeting of the Myanmar Maternal and Child Care Association was held, and Prof. Dr. San San Myint Aung, President of the MMCWA, delivered an opening speech. Then, the Secretary of the MMCWA, Dr. Nwe Ni Ohn, presented the activities of the year 2024, and the Treasurer, Dr. Win Pale, read out the financial statements of 2023-2024 and the estimated budget of 2024-2025.
Next, the Nay Pyi Taw, Regions, and States MCWA read out the activities reports of 2024, discussed and approved the meeting decisions and future plans, and the President of the MMCWA delivered a closing speech, and the (34th) Annual Meeting was successfully held on (10-10-2025).
